Custom Remington 700

JMS Tactical builds Custom Remington 700 Rifles in multiple calibers. Our most popular build is a Stainless Steel Remington 700 Action with a Stainless Steel Medium Varmint Match Barrel chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor or 7MM-08. Add our Remington 700 Chassis, and you are going to turn heads at the range. Our Chassis Systems are 100% USA manufactured out of billet aluminum. Our folder is made out of heat treated S7 Steel, and we use your choice of either Hogue Overmolded, or Ergo Flat Top Grips.
Complement your build with either an Accuracy International, Ruger Gunsite Scout, or Accurate Mag magazines. Top everything off with a Sig Tango 6 optic in 6-30X56 FFP with internal Levelplex technology, and you are in business!

Where do I start

The first thing you need to do is decide what type of shooting you plan on doing. That will tell you what caliber and options you will need. A few good resources for that are 8541 Tactical, and JMS Tactical websites. At 8541 Tactical, you will find reviews on the latest firearms and accessories, and  at JMS Tactical, you will find Chassis Systems and other accessories for your new build. You can also get a Custom Remington 700 built by them. Both of these sites are highly recommended before you start your build.

Hunting Rifles

If you are building a hunting rifle, you will want it to be as light as possible unless you are hunting varmints at long distances. A typical hunting rifle would start with a Remington 700 ADL with a pencil barrel, and a good 3-9 or 4-12 scope. You want a scope with a wide field of view, and not necessarily a large objective. You will not be needing to see where the bullet hits like you might want to do if you were shooting paper or competing. You will want a sling on your rifle, and typically a synthetic stock so you don’t destroy an expensive wood stock beating the bush, or climbing hills.

Tactical Competition

For Tactical Competition shooting, you will typically want a Remington 700 SPS Tactical with a 16 or 20 inch heavy barrel, and you will likely want the muzzle threaded. The SPS Tactical has a hinged floorplate that you can replace with a Magazine Conversion if you desire. The SPS Tactical will come with the Muzzle Threaded for a Suppressor or Muzzle Brake.
